I don’t know about you, but I find trips to the local Farmer’s Market as exciting as going to Disneyland. While I browse through the yummy treats they have to offer, I can’t help but go with a game plan of recipes I would like to attempt to create. Now I have this special recipe book by the name of “Pinterest” and couldn’t help but fall in love with the Mason Jar Craze. While there are a myriad of recipes a Mason Jar can be utilized to hold, Overnight Oats have become my new go-to healthy meal.
A recipe I found the most simple and appealing to try was a Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats. Prior to going to the Farmers’ Market I knew I needed to indulge in plenty of ripe Strawberries and Bananas, purchasing a good amount for future creations.
While I went with a plan of only purchasing fresh, organic Strawberries and Bananas, I couldn’t help but go on a shopping spree. I’m a certified food lover, so what can I say? The Food Gods were calling my name and answering my prayers.
After purchasing more than I should have, I excitedly created the recipe I was dying to try. I present you the recipe for this yummy Overnight Oats. Now feel free to modify ingredients to your taste, but I will inform you that this recipe is not only satisfying but healthy, nutritious and simple to make as well!
Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats
Serving Size: 1 Mason Jar
1 cup Organic Old Fashion Oats
1 Cup of Almond Milk (Any milk you prefer)
1 TBSP. of Natural Peanut Butter ( I grind my own Peanut Butter for a more Natural flavor)
1 TBSP of Chia Seeds
1 TSP of Cinnamon
1-2 TSP of Agave Nectar (Depends on how sweet you wish it to be)
1 Banana sliced
1/2 Cup of Strawberries Sliced
Granola (Amount Varied According to Preference)
Note: I suggest leaving the fruit slices and granola to top after leaving the oats in the refrigerator overnight. If you add the fruit in the fridge with it, the bananas might start turning brown. It’s completely your preference! Enjoy! 🙂
